This gave the smaller MacBook Pro a real power boost, with the M1 chip performing brilliantly, especially when it came to running photo editing apps like Photoshop. Sure, that makes it a few years old now, but it's still a formidable photo editing laptop thanks to the powerful components that mean this is a brilliant performer, and outshines many more recent laptops.

So, the inch MacBook Pro gets a larger screen than the inch and inch models, and that makes it far more comfortable to work on when editing your photos. It also packs AMD graphics cards and powerful Intel Core i7 and i9 processors (depending on the configuration you go for), and along with plenty of RAM, this means it's a joy to use when photo editing.

It also has a redesigned keyboard as well which eliminates some of the problems that have plagued recent MacBook keyboards. Not only is it more reliable, it's far more comfortable to use, with deeper travel and more responsive feedback.

The MacBook Air (M1, ) is yet another Apple laptop that's excellent at Photoshop thanks to its powerful Apple-designed M1 chip - based on the same tech as the one powering the more expensive MacBook Pro inch (M1, ).

This means it's the first time ever the more affordable MacBook Air can go toe-to-toe with the MacBook Pro when it comes to Photoshop performance. Weight: kg (lbs)

Reasons to buy

+Excellent build quality and screen+Works well as a digital sketchbook

Reasons to avoid

-Needs a Surface Dock for true expansion

The Microsoft Surface Book 3 (Inch) is a brilliant laptop from Microsoft, and it's yet another example of how a Windows 10 laptop can offer a level of style and power that can easily rival Apple's MacBooks.

The Surface Book 3 is ideal for photo editing, as it's packing powerful Intel processors, and you can also get configurations with an Nvidia GPU as well. Screen sizes come in both inch and inch configurations, so if you want a more portable device - or you'd like more room to work on your photos, then there's a Surface Book 3 for you.

It can also be used as a detachable tablet (by removing the keyboard) with a multi-touch display, which means you can use as a digital sketchbook - something traditional laptops like the MacBook Pro just can't do.

Bear in mind, though, that there's only one non-Thunderbolt USB-C port so you'll probably need the extra Surface Dock for plugging in all of your peripherals.

Acer Swift 3 inch

If you're after a convertible, this is the best

Specifications

CPU: 2 or 4 -core Intel Core i5 or Core i7

Display: inch Retina Display)

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics

Memory: 8GB - 16GB

Storage: GB - 4TB SSD

Reasons to buy

+Affordable+Powerful

Reasons to avoid

-Not the most stylish

Many of the laptops in this list are expensive, premium, devices, but what if you don't have that kind of budget? Then the Acer Swift 3 the Acer Swift 3 could be for you.

It's much more affordable than many other laptops on this page - it's around half the price of the MacBook Pro - but it features a nice design that feels robust, and comes with a quad-core Intel processor and 8GB of RAM, which is plenty for most photo editing apps.

Its inch display is surprisingly good, with IPS technology that lets it really show off bright and vivid colours, and it boasts a full HD (1, x 1,) resolution.

The keyboard is great to work on too, making this a fantastic choice for anyone who wants the power to do serious photography work, without breaking the bank.

The best photo editing laptops will offer plenty of speedy storage. Ideally an SSD (Solid State Drive) with GB or 1TB (or higher) storage. This gives you fast data transfer rates (handy for moving all your photos to and from one of the best external hard drives or camera memory card), while also offering plenty of space to hold those large files.

Getting a decent laptop for photo editing doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive thing out there. As you'll realise, basic photo editing like cropping, resizing and applying straightforward filters, can be performed on most devices. But we've prioritised graphically-capable laptops in this list because if you're looking for a photo-editing laptop specifically it's likely you'll want to do at least some advanced stuff.

As we mentioned earlier, we've prioritised graphical power (from AMD and Nvidia) above other elements but a pixel-perfect screen is also a must.

Many laptops now have IPS displays so you get brighter, bolder images, wider viewing angles and better colour reproduction. And resolutions are now higher than ever with Full HD now a minimum but even higher resolutions are standard on many. 4K is also a more regular option though it is still expensive.

Some laptops aimed at photographers have screens that support AdobeRGB and sRGB colour spaces, so it's worth looking out for those.

What laptop specs do I need for photo editing?

In  specs, you should consider 8GB of RAM a minimum for a laptop for photo editing, likewise a modern Intel Core i5 processor (or AMD Ryzen 5). These processors come with decent integrated graphics which will be more than enough for photo editing.

And your SSD drive should be GB as a minimum, too. Bigger is better if you'll be storing a lot of photos on the device, but you may be using cloud storage of course.

We recommend p displays, as they'll allow you to see more of your photos, but if your budget can stretch to it, a laptop with a 4K screen may be worth investing in.

Best gaming laptop in

The best gaming laptops are changing every year. The early days of mobile gaming were largely desktop replacements — clunky chassis, multiple power bricks, and RGB lighting galore. But the top contenders now are different. Manufacturers are finally putting powerful specs in sleeker, more portable, and more professional builds. They have excellent, fast refreshing screens that are necessary for a great gaming experience. These laptops aren’t just great for gaming, but for everyday work as well.

The best gaming laptop of is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G It can handle the most demanding games on the market today and also makes a great daily driver.

We’ll be updating this page regularly as the best gaming laptops hit shelves throughout this year. Some exciting updates are on the way. AMD and Nvidia have announced their next-gen series of mobile processors and mobile graphics cards — the Ryzen series and the GeForce RTX series, respectively — and we’re already seeing them in premium gaming laptops across manufacturers.

The QHD screen is another feature to watch for in the best gaming laptops. A growing number of manufacturers are releasing configurations with p displays, even in gaming laptops under $2, These options can hit a sweet spot for many gamers: a better experience than p without the price premium or raw horsepower required for a 4K display. You can expect decently high refresh rates from these panels as well, depending on the model.

One more thing to keep in mind with the best gaming laptops is the power you can expect. Not all chips with the same name are created equal — the RTX in one laptop may not deliver the same frame rates as the RTX in another laptop due to its wattage (as well as other factors like the processor and cooling). Nvidia now requires companies to disclose clock speeds and graphics power on each model’s product page, but plenty of manufacturers haven’t done that yet. Your best bet, if you can’t find those numbers on a company’s website, is to read some reviews and make sure the model you’re considering will deliver the frame rates you’re looking for. We will note the wattage used in any laptops we review with the new RTX graphics cards.

1. Asus ROG Zephyrus G15

The best gaming laptop

Asus’s ROG Zephyrus G14 was our top gaming laptop pick for quite a while. It did just about everything right, and we weren’t sure whether Asus could ever replicate its resounding success. But somehow, the company managed to make the G14 just a bit bigger, and a heck of a lot better. In doing so, it’s created the ROG Zephyrus G15, the best inch rig you can buy.

At just over four pounds, the Zephyrus G15 is one of the lightest inch gaming laptops you can buy. But you’re not making any compromises on performance for that portability: it’s powered by the top mobile chips that AMD and Nvidia have to offer, and includes a fast Hz QHD (p) display. Together, those components can handle even the toughest AAA titles at QHD resolution. The panel has excellent color reproduction as well, so your games will look great.

But it’s not just the gaming; almost everything else about the G15 is great, too. The audio (pumped from a six-speaker array) has strong percussion and bass, the keyboard and touchpad have a satisfying click, the port selection leaves little to be desired, and the battery can last for a whopping eight and a half hours.

The G15 won’t be the laptop for everyone. There’s no webcam, which is a significant oversight, and some may prefer something more affordable, or with a flashier aesthetic. But as a package, the G15 is the one to beat. Not only is it the best gaming laptop you can buy, but it’s also one of the best laptops you can buy, period.

2. Razer Blade Pro 17

The best big-screen gaming laptop

The Blade Pro 17 delivers some of the best gaming performance you can find in a laptop — but that’s not even its superpower. What makes Razer’s inch flagship so impressive is it packs that unbelievable power into a thin and attractive chassis. It’s just inches thick and only requires one charging brick — so you can carry it around in a backpack or briefcase without compromising on power.

Gaming enthusiasts can opt for a model with a Hz screen — the highest refresh rate you can get on a laptop — while folks who want to combine gaming with some creative work can opt for a Hz touchscreen configuration. Both models come with a customizable per-key RGB keyboard, which adds a touch of color to the Pro’s design without being too obnoxious for the office.

The Blade Pro 17 certainly isn’t cheap, but it’s the laptop to buy if you want the best of the best.

3. Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition

The best big-screen gaming laptop

The ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition is one of the few gaming laptops you’ll find that includes both an AMD processor and an AMD GPU. Not to worry — it delivers gaming performance on par with what you’ll see from laptops with Nvidia’s top GPUs. It also delivers one of the best gaming battery experiences we’ve ever seen — it was able to maintain playable frame rates on Red Dead Redemption 2 for over an hour with no charger attached.

Speaking of battery, we averaged nine hours and 16 minutes of work use between charges, which makes the Strix G15 far and away one of the longest-lasting gaming laptops on the market. That’s doubly impressive because it’s powering a ton of flashy LEDs, including a per-key RGB keyboard and a colorful light strip around the front edge of the deck. If you’re looking for a jazzy, bold design and you’re all-in on AMD, the Strix G15 Advantage edition is a great gaming laptop for you.

4. Dell G5 15 SE

The best budget gaming laptop

The Dell G5 15 SE offers a great gaming experience at a price range far below that of many competitors. You can buy it for around $1,, and it doesn’t ask too many compromises for that price. While it only comes with a 60Hz screen, the hardware inside (especially AMD’s Ryzen 7 processor) is capable of maxing that out on all kinds of demanding games at native p resolution, so you can reliably expect a playable experience from your favorite titles.

We’re also impressed by the G5’s connectivity. It includes a Mini DisplayPort, an HDMI, and an Ethernet jack — all ports you don’t see every day on laptops at this price point. Overall, if you’re looking for great value for your money, the G5 is your best bet.

Dell G5 15 SE

The Dell G5 15 SE delivers outstanding performance for its price and ditches the Intel / Nvidia combo in favor of an all AMD build. This inch laptop pairs a Ryzen 7 H CPU with an RX M for excellent p performance.

5. Razer Blade 15 Advanced

A great thin and light gaming laptop

The Blade 15 isn’t as powerful as its inch sibling, but it may be a more pragmatic purchase for many people. If you’re looking for a balanced combination of performance and portability, the Blade 15 may hit that sweet spot. It still packs the top chips on the market and can come with a Hz display, but at just pounds and inches thick, it’s comparable in size to a number of inch productivity machines like the Dell XPS

In addition to its reliable gaming performance, the Blade 15 works well as a productivity machine. We’re big fans of its keyboard, which is quite comfortable to use and has per-key RGB lighting, and the touchpad, which is roomy with a satisfying click. Our primary complaint is that this Blade got quite hot during our game testing — not only did the processor reach 99 degrees, but the hinge and palm rests were uncomfortable to touch.

Razer Blade 15 Advanced

The Blade 15 Advanced is Razer’s best midsize gaming laptop. It has a more powerful processor than the base Blade 15, higher-end GPU options, and a slimmer design. You can get it with either a 4K OLED touchscreen or a Hz p display, but serious gamers will want to go for the Hz model.

6. Razer Blade 14

The best gaming laptop in a inch chassis

If you’re looking for a powerful inch device that can keep up with the best inch gaming laptops on the market, the only place you’ll find that is the Razer Blade This slim and portable device includes Nvdia’s RTX and RTX , Nvidia’s top-of-the-line mobile GPUs, as well as a powerful eight-core AMD chip. It’s a gorgeous device, with a QHD Hz display option and a classy RGB keyboard. There’s even a reasonable port selection, including HDMI as well as two USB-C ports.

7. Asus ROG Strix Scar 15

The best laptop with flashy RGB

If you’re looking for a “traditional” premium gaming laptop with colorful, flashy panache, the ROG Strix Scar 15 is for you. The Strix’s keyboard isn’t just one of the most comfortable that we’ve ever tested on a gaming laptop; it also has some of the coolest per-key RGB lighting we’ve ever seen with all kinds of effects. There’s also a colorful light strip wrapped around the front of the deck (customizable as well) and a colorful glowing logo on the lid. In short: if you use this in public, people will notice.

Of course, the Strix is great on the inside as well, delivering some of the best frame rates you’ll find from a inch laptop with Intel’s and Nvidia’s top chips. You’ll get the full benefit of their power with a Hz screen option as well. And the Strix comes preloaded with various programs to help customize your gaming experience. You can personalize color profiles, bandwidth allocation, and more based on the type of game you’re playing.

8. Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

A gaming laptop with an exceptional keyboard

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is no longer the best inch gaming laptop you can buy, but it’s still great. For well under $2,, the Zephyrus crams one of the most powerful mobile processors on the market into a super portable inch chassis. With capable cooling to boot, the laptop delivers frame rates we’ve never seen in a laptop of this size before. It handled every game we threw at it without breaking a sweat.

But aside from its excellent gaming performance, the G14 makes a great daily driver. The touchpad, display, and port selection are all excellent, and the keyboard is one of the absolute best you can buy on the market. Even the battery life is good — something we almost never get to say about gaming laptops.

There are a few downsides to the G14, but they’re fairly small and user-dependent. The most significant note is that it lacks a webcam; you’ll need an external one if you plan on taking video calls. There’s also some bleed in the backlighting, there’s no Thunderbolt connectivity (since it’s an AMD system, and that’s an Intel standard), and the fans can get louder than most under load. But these are very much nitpicks that won’t have a large impact on plenty of people’s gaming experience. Overall, though the Razer Blade 14 delivers better raw performance, we still have very few complaints.

Asus recently collaborated with DJ Alan Walker on the Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker Edition, with a box that becomes DJ deck.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is an astonishingly powerful gaming laptop. Its AMD Ryzen 9 processor and GeForce RTX can push powerful, smooth graphics performance in games with its QHD display, while also being surprisingly efficient for other tasks.

Best Gaming Laptops of

The best gaming laptops come in all shapes and sizes, for different needs and budgets. Because while a tricked out $5,plus model with the highest-end graphics and best display might give you the best gaming laptop experience, most of us can't afford a rig like that. Our picks here are often high-end models (we're an enthusiast site, after all), but most come in a variety of configurations at various price points.

Thankfully, there are  more gaming laptop options now than ever, from budget-friendly to desktop replacements. Some come with full-size Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards, while others go for the more efficient Max-Q designs that enable thinner chassis and (sometimes) quieter fans.

While many of the best gaming laptops come with a p display and high refresh rates, some include 4K screens, so you can pick between fidelity and resolution. Several gaming laptop go as fast as Hz.

There is more choice than ever in components, too. While Intel is still a popular option, AMD's Ryzen processors are becoming more common, though the majority of notebooks in general still use Intel. On the GPU side, Nvidia's RTX GPUs are in far more laptops, though AMD is slowly starting to pair its own graphics cards with hits CPUs for what it calls an "AMD Advantage."

The latest technologies in processors include Intel's 11th Gen "Tiger Lake" processors and AMD's Ryzen CPUs. Just like desktops, anything with the latest graphics can still be hard to come by right now, thanks to a global components shortage.

To help you find the best gaming laptop today, we've compiled a list of the best models we've tested and reviewed recently. For much more on how to narrow down your list of best gaming laptop considerations, check out our best gaming laptop buyer’s guide. But here are a few quick tips to get you started down the road to the right portable gaming rig for you.

While many gamers may go to desktops to get the most performance for their money, try lugging a tower, monitor and keyboard around in your backpack. When you need a powerful rig you can take with you, there's no substitute for a gaming laptop.

The picks on this list should be ready to run Windows 11, which released this month. Read our impressions of Windows

Quick Gaming Laptop Shopping Tips

  • Focus on the GPU: Most games are dependent on the GPU, and those aren’t upgradeable. If you splurge on a powerful GPU now, you’ll be gaming comfortably for a few years.
  • You can upgrade some parts later: While the best CPUs for gaming and GPUs are almost always soldered down, most gaming laptops let you replace the RAM and storage, so you can buy cheaper now and add more memory and a bigger hard drive or SSD down the road.
  • Battery life will probably be bad: Very few gaming notebooks get 8 hours or more on a charge, and you need the power supply to get the best gaming performance anyway. However, we've seen some strong times from AMD's Ryzen processors, and Nvidia suggests its improved Optimus technology may help turn the tide.

1. MSI GE76 Raider

The Best Overall Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: ntel Core iHK

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX

Display: inches, x , Hz

Weight: pounds ( kg)

Reasons to buy

+Strong gaming performance+Fast SSD speeds+RGB light bar (that you can turn off)+Bright, fast display+p webcam

Reasons to avoid

-Very expensive-Runs a bit warm

The MSI GE76 Raider is our pick for a gaming laptop that can replace your desktop. And yes, it has a massive RGB light bar. It offers seriously strong performance with components ranging up to an Intel Core iHK and Nvidia GeForce RTX

The inch display is bright and goes up to Hz, for those who want to play esports titles like Dota 2 or League of Legends as smoothly as possible.

But unlike many of the other laptops on this list, the Raider is not thin. In fact, it's quite large, but you need that for all of the power inside (and for the inch build quality). If you want something smaller, the GE66 Raider, our former pick for this spot, which we reviewed last year, has also been updated to more recent parts.

Read:MSI GE76 Raider Review

For enthusiasts who want a gaming laptop to replace a desktop, the MSI GE76 Raider has it all. It's a performance gaming machine with up to an Intel Core iHK and Nvidia GeForce RTX , with a Hz display that's ready for esports like League of Legends or Dota 2.

For some, the standout feature will be the RGB light bar, which really, well, stands out. If that's a bit much, though, you can turn it off. We're also pleased with its p webcam, which should simply be standard in

Of course, a incher is deskbound, and this one is also very expensive. It's a great pick for serious enthusiasts, but those looking for something smaller may want to opt for the GE66 Raider, which we tested last year with 10th Gen processors, but is also available with updated parts.

2. Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Best Thin and Light Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen HS

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX Max-Q

Display: inch, x Hz

Weight: pounds ( kg)

Reasons to buy

+Good looks+AMD Ryzen HS offers strong performance+Stellar battery life+Comfortable keyboard

Reasons to avoid

-Fan sometime whirs when idle-No webcam-No Thunderbolt 3

For those looking for something slim and attractive, our pick is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G As far as gaming laptops go, the Zephyrus is unassuming in either white or gray with minimalist stylings. But with the AMD Ryzen HS and Nvidia GeForce RTX Max-Q in our review unit, you get strong productivity and gaming performance. It’s not the best performer on the market in terms of graphics, but it’s the best value for most people.

The battery life is also surprisingly long for a gaming notebook and the keyboard is clicky and comfortable. The fan, however, sometimes goes off even when just sitting on the desktop, and this system doesn’t come equipped with a built-in webcam.

3. Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model

Best Thin and Light Gaming Laptop (Alternate Pick)

Specifications

CPU: Intel Core iH

While the Zephyrus stops at an RTX , the Blade goes up to an Nvidia RTX Super Max-Q. It also has options for a faster Hz display, which is great for esports.

Instead of a Ryzen chip, Razer has opted for Intel’s 10th Gen H-series processors to power the Blade It’s not as power efficient, but offers strong performance.

4. Alienware m17 R4

Best inch Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: Intel Core iHK

GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX (W TGP)

Display: inch x Hz

Weight: pounds / 3 kg

Reasons to buy

+Unrivaled performance+Snappy keyboard+Attractive design

Reasons to avoid

-Noisy fan-Heavy

A inch gaming notebook gets into the desktop replacement category, and that's exactly what the  Alienware m17 R4 is. At its top-end configurations, like how we reviewed it, it can get very pricey, but you also get the top-end Nvidia GeForce RTX Laptop GPU with W TGP. There are options for 4K or our x Hz option for esports aficionados.

Other RTX laptops we've tested to date haven't touched the m17 on performance, which eschews Max-Q technologies in favor of the most powerful part you can pack in a notebook.

It also has a nice, snappy RGB keyboard and the design, at inches, is still fairly stealthy for a notebook packing this much performance.

5. Acer Nitro 5

The Best Budget Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 U

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX

Display: inch, x

Weight: pounds / kg

Reasons to buy

+Great value+Comfortable keyboard+Good webcam

Reasons to avoid

-Dim display

The Acer Nitro 5 is the best gaming laptop for those on a tight budget. For the price, you’ll get a great value on entry level performance. While you’ll sacrifice a bright display, the  keyboard is comfortable and you even get a decent webcam.

Our review unit had an AMD Ryzen 5 U paired with an Nvidia GeForce We’ve seen a few Ryzen-based gaming laptops get better than expected battery life, and the Nitro 5 lasted over 11 hours.

If you’re handy, there’s plenty of room for upgrading (and you’ll want to consider it down the line with just GB of storage in our review unit), but for $, you’re getting a lot for the money.

6. Acer Nitro 5 (Alternate Configuration)

A Souped Up Version of our Budget Pick

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 U

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX

Display: inch, x , Hz

Weight: pounds / kg

Reasons to buy

+Strong performance+Good viewing angles

Reasons to avoid

-Pricier than other Acer Nitro models

Since we reviewed the Acer Nitro 5 above, the company has released more models with updated specs. The most recent one we reviewed uses a Ryzen 7 U and an Nvidia GeForce RTX , allowing for stronger performance and ray tracing in select games.

This model also boasts a p display at Hz, far above the p you find in the budget version. This one still looks clunky, however, and you pay for the parts with a $1, price tag.

Acer is still selling the Nitro 5 in budget configurations — this is a newer one that adds on to the lineup with a more premium configuration. It falls a bit out of the budget category at this point, but we found that the additions were quite good.

7. Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition

The All-AMD Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 HX

GPU: AMD Radeon RX M

Display: inch, x , Hz, IPS

Weight: pounds / 3 kg

Reasons to buy

+Solid gaming and productivity performance+Long battery life for a gaming notebook+Dolby Atmos audio+Cool at most touchpoints

Reasons to avoid

-Middling SSD-Display could be brighter-No webcam

The Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition is the first laptop under AMD's Advantage program, which pairs the company's CPUs and GPUs in premium designs meant to use solid screens and be built for comfortable gaming. The Strix delivers on several of those points by offering strong performance through the Ryzen 9 Hz, Radeon RX M and SmartShift technology to move power between the two.

The laptop also offers powerful audio with Dolby Atmos support, and we found it to be reasonably cool at most touchpoints, even while gaming. It also lasts a long time on battery when you aren't gaming.

There are a few concerns of note, including the complete lack of a webcam, and the display, while decent, could be brighter. But for those all in on AMD and laptops with copious amounts of RGB lighting, this one's worth a look.

8. Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 G

The Best Esports Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 HX

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX

Display: inch, x , Hz

Weight: pounds / kg

Reasons to buy

+ Hz Refresh Rate+Comfortable keyboard+Strong productivity performance+Bassy Audio

Reasons to avoid

-Divisive Design-Short charging cable

If you want to play esports like a professional, you'll want a laptop with the fastest screen you can find. The Asus ROG Strix Scar G offers a Hz refresh rate on its FHD screen and has top-end components to power esports titles to get to frame rates that can actually use it.

The design feels premium but has an interesting mix of dark materials and clear plastic. It's reminiscent of both a hot rod car and a 90's MP3 player, which might turn some people off.

But the comfortable keyboard, strong overall performance and bassy audio all contribute to a strong gaming experience, even if you don't like seeing the inside of your laptop.

9. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro

A inch Esports Option

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 H

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX

Display: inch, x , Hz

Weight: pounds / kg

Reasons to buy

+Beautiful, high-res display+Strong performance+Comfortable keyboard

Reasons to avoid

-Bulky design-Middling Audio

If you're willing to sacrifice your refresh rate for higher resolution, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is one to check out. While some other gaming notebooks opt for Hz, the Legion's Hz, x screen is a stunner in its own right. It also has a aspect ratio, which we appreciate for productivity use.

Our review unit came with a Ryzen 7 H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX , which together offered competitive performance across our suite of gaming benchmarks. Our system also included GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.

We were also impressed with this laptop's keyboard, which seems to have benefitted from the excellence of Lenovo's business-oriented ThinkPads.

The system is, however, a bit thick. If you don't want to deal with bulk, you may want to consider other options on this list.

Asus ROG Zephyrus Do 15 SE GX

The Best Dual-Screen Gaming Laptop

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 HX

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX

Display: inch, x primary display, x ScreenPad Plus

Weight: pounds / kg

Reasons to buy

+Excellent productivity performance+Bright, colorful displays+Good battery life (for a gaming laptop)

Reasons to avoid

-No webcam-Input devices are awkward

Asus' latest ROG Zephyrus Duo uses AMD's top-end RYzen 9 HX paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX for powerful results, while using a second screen that lifts up to provide more ventilation to improve cooling.

The two displays are both bright and colorful, and at a bit over 4 hours and 52 minutes on our battery test, it's endurance is good (for a gaming notebook, anyway).

The keyboard and mouse are in an awkward position, like most dual-screen notebooks on the market (most people will likely use an external mouse for gaming). So you'll have to decide if that second screen — which is great for chat programs, gaming guides or music apps — is worth a more difficult typing experience.
